Keith Jarrett on Marian McPartland’s Piano Jazz

This is old news already. Keith Jarrett recorded a session with Marian McPartland for Piano Jazz on September 8, 2006. It was first broadcast on NPR (National Public Radio) on January 2, 2007 and recently rebroadcast on September 4, 2009. The complete session (57:51) is available on NPR’s Web site. According to Universal Music Classical, “in his liner notes, Jarrett gives a highly personal account of the music’s inspirational genesis, which is outstanding, even by his own high standards, with powerful emotions never far from the music’s surface.”

The album will be released in early October 2009 (e.g. October 2 in Germany and October 6 in the US).

Solo concert at the Tonhalle in Zürich on October 16, 2009

Keith Jarrett will play a solo concert at the Tonhalle in Zürich on October 16, 2009 at 8:30 PM. Tickets will go on sale on Tuesday, August 25 on Ticketcorner at 8 AM (CET). They were previously scheduled to go on sale on Monday, August 24, so you might want to check Ticketcorner’s Web site both on Monday and Tuesday, just to be sure…
